Accelerated Credit Enrollment Industry Training (ACE IT)
ACE IT programs are developed and offered in partnership between school districts and post-secondary institutions, and classes are often taught at colleges and secondary schools. Post-secondary tuition fees are paid by the School District.
Accelerated Credit Enrollment in Industry Training (ACE IT) programs allow students to begin training associated with specific trades.
Students who successfully complete an ACE IT program get credit for at least level one of the technical training (in-class) component of the Industry Training Program. That means they have a significant head start on post-secondary education by the time they graduate from high school - as well as gaining practical and in-demand skills.
New programs are continually being developed. Career Advisors in each school have information on current ACE IT programs available to students. Students who complete their Level 1 technical training typically have very good success in finding employment.
Students must apply to be considered for a District ACE IT program. There is a rigorous interview process as seats are limited; submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance to a program.
Application package must be submitted by mid April for the following school year.
