History of School:
When Port Guichon Elementary school was built in 1972, it was called Fairview Elementary School as it was situated on Fairview Road (46A Street). But in 1977, community and school officials decided to rename the school Port Guichon Elementary in order to place it properly in the rich context of Ladner's history. The school was named to honour the Guichon family, true pioneers.
