    Sandra Adamson

    Sandra Adamson, holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English and History. She is currently a Resource Room teacher at SDSS, where she has gained invaluable experience personalizing learning for her students and is also currently enrolled in Roland Case’s Critical Thinking certificate program. Sandra is passionate about sustainability and the environment; she believes strongly that youth have the skills to change their world and strives to empower them to be leaders. Sandra will be the Teacher Coordinator for the academy; this role will involve co-instructing with Bruce Ford and coordinating all educational activities, lectures, guest speakers and field trips.

    Bruce Ford

    Bruce Ford is the Sustainability Education Coordinator for Metro Vancouver and will co-instruct at the Sustainable Earth Academy. Formerly a classroom teacher, Bruce now supports and inspires teachers, youth, school districts, and community and corporate partners to engage in sustainability education and leadership models through Metro Vancouver’s School Programs. Bruce develops and implements teaching and learning tools and strategies to promote awareness and responsible action on local sustainability topics. Bruce is on the Board of the Canadian Network for Environmental Education and Communication (EECOM) and for the Environmental Educators’ Provincial Specialist Association (EEPSA). Since 2006, Bruce has co-chaired EEPSA’s annual Inspiring Sustainability in BC Schools Conference. He also co-chaired EECOM’s 2010 National Conference in Burnaby, B.C. Bruce holds a Masters’ Degree in Education, specializing in science and sustainability education, from the University of British Columbia.
