Lacrosse - Delta Secondary
Program Description
There will be an Information Meeting: Tuesday, April 24th, 7 pm, in the library at Delta Secondary.
Delta Secondary will be home to a new Lacrosse Academy commencing September 2012. Students in this academy will benefit from the coaching and fitness training expertise of Josh Neumann (See Josh’s profile under Coaches on the right of this page). The Teacher Coordinator for the Lacrosse Academy will be determined during the staffing process in May 2012.
The Lacrosse Academy is open to males and females in Grades 9 – 12. Students will be enrolled in two blocks of lacrosse, which will occur every other afternoon. Students will receive credit for Physical Education at the appropriate grade level, Science of Sport and Nutrition 10, and Superfit 11 and 12.
One of the objectives of this program is to provide an opportunity for interested students to attend college recruitment tournaments in the US. Students in this academy will be expected to take a serious approach to their education and will receive assistance preparing for athletic scholarships.
Transportation between SDSS and Delta Secondary will be provided.
