Hockey Canada Skills Academy - Burnsview Secondary
Program Description
The Delta School District offers an excellent Hockey Skills Canada Academy at Burnsview Secondary. Leland Mack, Head Coach of the Vancouver Canadians (Major Midget), and Jordie Armon-Jones are the on-ice instructors with the academy. Carl Payne, the Teacher Coordinator, is the Strength and Conditioning coach for the program. This year we welcome Goalie Coach, Paul Fricker, to the academy.
The Burnsview Hockey Academy, open to male and female students in Grades 8 – 12, emphasizes individual skill development and academic achievement. The academy provides additional training for minor aged hockey players (beginners or advanced, competitive or recreational) who wish to improve their hockey skills.
Students enrolled in the academy have one block of hockey training within their regular school day resulting in a better balance between athletic and academic success. This program is sanctioned for operation by Hockey Canada, BCAHA and the Delta School District.
