Hockey Academy - South Delta Secondary
Program Description
The South Delta Secondary Hockey Academy provides students with a unique opportunity to work with outstanding professionals. This program takes place in conjunction with the Vancouver Giants and provides students with the best on and off ice training. Students in this program skate and train with the Giants Head Coach Don Hay; Assistant Coache Frank Musil; Goaltending Coach Paul Fricker; Strength and Conditioning Coach Ian Gallagher; and Vancouver Canadians Head Coach, Leland Mack. This year we are pleased to also welcome back Steffany Hanlen and her staff from Quantum Speed to the program.
Students in the hockey academy are enrolled in two blocks of hockey, providing them with hockey training and core conditioning on a daily basis within the school schedule. Program options for Bantam and Major Midget players include two on-ice sessions and two core conditioning sessions per week, plus one class a week devoted to sport psychology, health and nutrition seminars, as well as study time. This program is designed to maximize individual potential and development and is open to male and female students in Grades 8 - 12.
