Dance Academy

Delta School District is very pleased to offer another Fine Arts Academy to the students of Delta.  The Dance Academy at Delta Secondary is in its inaugural year.

This academy, coordinated by Rebecca Salton (see Update below), the Performing Arts Teacher at Delta Secondary, and taught by local professional dancers Jyla Davis, Lesley Benham and Katie Parks, will provide professional training in technique, choreography and performance.  The primary genres to be studied will include ballet, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary, with supplemental workshops in a variety of dance forms, provided by specialized dance professionals.

Students planning to apply to the Dance Academy must have a strong technical base and a serious, passionate attitude toward dance; ballet and jazz training preferred.

Update:  We are pleased to welcome Katy Lewis as the Teacher Coordinator for the Dance Academy during Rebecca Salton's maternity leave.
