Application Process
Application Process for New and Returning Students:
1. A parent or guardian must complete the application form.
2. Submit the completed application form and deposit fee to the Records Clerk at Sands Secondary. The deposit fee, which will be processed June 1, 2012, is non-refundable and includes a $100 registration fee, plus the first and last month’s Academy fee.
3. All applications will be date stamped upon receipt. Applicants are encouraged to apply by March 1, 2012, as students will be accepted into the Academy based on space availability.
4. You will receive a written letter of acceptance from the Delta School District once there is a sufficient number of applicants to run the program.
5. Once Academy spaces have been filled, accepted applicants will be placed on a wait list. The Delta School District will notify applicants if space becomes available.
Out-of-Catchment Students
Out-of-catchment students may attend Sands Secondary full time or on a part-time basis, moving between two schools at lunch. Students planning to attend Sands Secondary full time must contact the Records Clerk at the school and arrange to:
- Select courses for the 2012-2013 school year
- Bring the student’s last report card
Out-of-District Students
Out-of-district students must attend a Delta school full time to participate in an academy. Once accepted to the Baseball Academy, please contact the Records Clerk at Sands Secondary and arrange to:
- Complete a Delta School District registration form
- Complete a Non School District application form
- Select courses for the 2012-2013 school year
- Bring the student’s birth certificate and proof of residency
- Bring the student’s last report card
Bursaries: Financial assistance may be available with demonstrated need. Apply early.
