EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (E.C.E.) CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
2 Year Part-Time Evening Program
The Delta Early Childhood Education certificate program prepares students to work in daycare centres and pre-schools, and meets the academic requirements necessary to apply for a provincial License to Practise as an Early Childhood Educator. The E.C.E. Basic Program is offered as a part-time evening program with daytime practicums. Classes are held in North Delta and/or in Richmond through a partnership with Richmond School District.
To work as a licensed Early Childhood Educator in B.C., you are required to have received training from an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Registry-approved training program such as Delta Early Childhood Education. Approved programs offer course curriculum that fulfills all provincial requirements and prepares students for licensure and employment in the Early Childhood Education sector in B.C.
Delta Continuing Education has been teaching Early Childhood Education in various forms since 1969, when it was the "Kindergarten and Preschool Teacher Training" program. Delta Continuing Education is approved as a training institution for Early Childhood Education Basic and Post-Basic Certificates, and is certified by Human Resources & Social Development Canada.
E.C.E. Program Information Sessions are held throughout the year, providing you with information about the Delta E.C.E. Basic Program and becoming licensed as an early childhood educator. For the next available date, please visit http://ConnectAndLearn.deltasd.bc.ca.
