DSS gym's new look is page from town's past - Pacer nickname evidenced in harness racing mural

Delta Secondary's east gym got a fresh look over the winter break with a new mural and graphics.

"Definitely, students are proud of it," said principal Terry Ainge.

The mural, done by artist Dean Lauzé, depicts a harness racing scene and is "a bit of a nod to the school's history," he said.

Ainge noted on a blog post about the project that the origin of the school's Pacer name is tied to Ladner's Paterson Park, a former venue for harness racing.

Volleyball Excellence!

The Seaquam Secondary senior girls volleyball team and the South Delta Secondary junior girls volleyball team both won the provincial championships this year. Congratulations!

The teams were recently honoured at a Delta School District board meeting.
