DSS students support 20 families in need

December 22, 2015

Students at Delta Secondary School decided to come together and, as a school, help 20 families in need by filling Christmas hampers for them. Each family gave the school a specific list of needs for its hamper, and the students then gathered the items needed by each family.

“There are families in need of help and we are capable of helping, so we should,” said James Yang, student.

Students were eager to help and the donations rolled-in. Students collected items such as food items, toys, clothes and gift certificates. Roughly $20,000 worth of gifts were gathered. The items were then wrapped by the students and delivered to the families.

“It’s nice for these families to experience the giving of Christmas. Hopefully, we are giving them a great Christmas experience,” said Zoe Harmandian, student.
