Over 2,600 Students Take Part in Continuing Education Programs in Summer 2015

This summer more than 2,600 youth and adult students enrolled in courses operated by Delta School District’s Continuing Education branch, proving that learning is truly a year-round activity in Delta schools.

Academic summer programs, including 6-week full-credit secondary school courses and 4-week remedial courses, enrolled about 1,240 students, while English language learning summer school attracted 630 students in 2015.

In addition, over 650 students took part in "Summer Quest 2015" Youth Activities camps this July and August.

The best-attended youth camps this summer reflected the diversity of interests shown by Delta’s students:  computer programming, basketball, soapstone carving, web design, speed improvement for athletes, guitar, and babysitting.

Delta Continuing Education is a leading resource in the community for life-long learning opportunities for all ages. With a new facility, the Delta Community College, officially opened in October 2014, residents of Delta take part in programs year round, including high school completion, English language learning, workplace training, first aid, and a wide range of personal development courses.

The Fall 2015 Continuing Education catalogue will be delivered to Delta homes on August 27, and all upcoming courses can be viewed now on-line at:
