Animal-Loving Ladner Elementary

June 26, 2015

On Tuesday, June 23, Ms. Daisy Valentin's grade 7 French Immersion class at Ladner Elementary enjoyed a special presentation. Richmond Animal Protection Society (RAPS) staff member Wendy Riley came to discuss the work of the society and was presented with a donation of$400 by student Jaileen McCormick. Jaileen has been baking cupcakes all school year and selling them to raise the funds for the animal shelter, which she also volunteers at. The prestation marked the end of her fundraising efforts for the year. Students enjoyed meeting Pixie, the blind senior Chihuahua, who is available for adoption at the shelter, as well as Jaileen's three pet rats and cat which were also adopted from the shelter.
