Congratulations to the 2011 Graduates of the Delta Early Childhood Education Program
41 Adult Students Recognized in Richmond

At a graduation ceremony in Richmond this June, 41 adult students celebrated the completion of their 2-year Delta Early Childhood Education certificate program.

At the event, representatives Kristin Campbell and Gigi Prudente addressed the audience on behalf of their fellow students, while Feyona Hong was awarded the certificate of "Top Academic Standing" for maintaining top marks, an average of 98.6%, in her graduating class.

Through 980 hours of classroom and practicum training, the E.C.E. program prepares students to work with young children in preschools and child care settings. The E.C.E. Certificate program has been taught in Richmond since 2000 through a partnership between Delta and Richmond School Districts.

At the event, program coordinator, Phyllis McBeth, was recognized on the event of her retirement. After many years as an early childhood educator, child care advocate, and course instructor, Phyllis has provided leadership for the Early Childhood Education program for more than a decade and has been the point of contact for literally hundreds of ECE students in Delta and Richmond.
