Holiday Message from the Superintendent

Fri December 17, 2010
Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to delusions of our childhood days, recall to the old man pleasures of his youth, and transport the traveler back to his own fireside and quiet home!

Delta Schools Celebrate the Holiday Season

Thu December 16, 2010
In the lead up to the winter vacation break, December 18 to January 3, many Delta schools are celebrating through art, dance, drama, music and song. While some schools had their concerts last week, many are taking place this week. Please see the individual school websites for more information. At the School Board Office Grade 1 students from McCloskey Elementary helped to decorate the tree in the main foyer with hand-made reindeers, ginger bread cookies, stockings, and baubles.

An AMAZING story

Fri December 10, 2010
Tea Van Acken, a grade 4 student from Mrs. Crespo’s class at Cougar Canyon Elementary, raised over a thousand dollars for Cancer research. She came home one day with an idea that she shared with her mom. “I want to shave my hair so I can raise money for Cancer research”, Tea told her mom. And the rest is history. Tea was able to reach her goal in less than a week and we are proud to announce that Tea will have her hair shaved off next Wednesday (December 15th) at 1:30pm. What an amazing young lady.
