Press Release: Delta School District Welcomes Dianne Turner as new Superintendent of Schools
DELTA, BC – The Delta Board of Education is extremely pleased to announce that Dianne Turner has been appointed as the new District Superintendent of the Delta School District.
In keeping with Board priorities and a focus on 21st Century Learning, Superintendent Turner’s passion for education and leadership in her role as Assistant Superintendent since joining the District in 2008 have been invaluable contributions to inspiring innovation in teaching and learning in Delta.
Dianne was previously employed with the Vancouver School District where she supported teaching and learning for the past nine years as Principal, and prior to that time, seven years as Vice-Principal at four secondary schools in Vancouver and Coquitlam. Prior to moving into school administration, Dianne was a Science Department Head, taught Science, and Mathematics and coordinated environmental education and gifted school programs.
Dianne holds a Masters Degree in Educational Administration and is working on her Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership. She was the outgoing President of the Vancouver Association of Secondary School Administrators and has an exceptional background in leadership, collaboration and innovative practice.
