Graduation Transitions

Graduation Transitions requires students to demonstrate personal growth and achievement in relation to the Attributes of the BC Graduate.

All BC secondary school graduates must demonstrate they meet the following components of Graduation Transitions:

  • Career and Life Transitions - Students must develop a transition plan with projected financial support; prepare a resume and identify achievements and references to support the resume.
  • Community Connections - Students must participate in at least 30 hours of work experience and/or community service and identify the value to themselves and others.
  • Personal Health - Students must develop a personal health plan and participate in at least 150 minutes per week of moderate to vigorous physical activity.

Students are introduced to the Graduation Transitions requirements in Planning 10 and begin to collect supporting documentation. To assist students, the Delta School District has developed a Graduation Transitions Student Guide. During Grade 12, students will be assigned to a Graduation Transitions Advisor to guide them in the completion of this graduation requirement.
