  • DSS students support 20 families in need

    Students at Delta Secondary School decided to come together and, as a school, help 20 families in need by filling Christmas hampers for them. Each family gave the school a specific list of needs for its hamper, and the students then gathered the items needed by each family.

    To celebrate the holiday season, while embracing cross-curricular, hands-on learning, grade seven students at Holly Elementary School in Ladner held an entrepreneurial craft fair for the local community.

    This summer there were 26 black bear cubs in the Fraser Valley area who had lost their mothers and were starving; some were even eating plastic bags and metal cans. One by one they were taken to the Critter Care Wildlife Society, an animal rehabilitation centre in Langley.

This year when the staff at South Park Elementary School is Tsawwassen were deciding what to do for their holiday activities, they determined that it would be the perfect opportunity to show their students how much fun math really can be.
