Facility Description
The heart of the Genesis Theatre complex is a classical proscenium theatre with a fly stage, supported by the following ancillary facilities:
Two dressing rooms, each with 16 make-up positions, a single shower and an adjoining washroom
Orchestra Pit
Lighting and Sound Control Rooms
Drama Studio / Rehearsal Hall
Tiered Music Room
Scene Shop
Lobby with Box Office, Coat Check / Concession, Washrooms
Foyer with ample display areas
Rental Procedures
Genesis Theatre is available for Community Use on weekends, holidays and on school-day evenings. All rentals are by the hour, for a minimum of four hours.
Rental Catagories
Rehearsal Use - includes Stage and Auditorium and dressing rooms, but not lobby, foyer, box-office or concession.
Staffing - includes an adult theatre technican and student operators for sound, lighting, and rigging as required.
Staffing - includes an adult Front-of-House Co-ordinator and Head User, to oversee and assist the renter's volunteer House Staff of Ticket-Takers and Ushers and the above mentioned Theatre Technician and student Operators for Sound, Lighting and Rigging, as required.
